Wednesday

Elephant and Piggie's Summer of Science: 10 a.m. For all ages. Register for this event today. Join the stars of Mo Willems' bestselling Elephant & Piggie books for an imagination fueled encounter with science. Children 3 and younger must be accompanied by an adult caregiver. All attendees need to register. This program was sponsored in part by a Community Arts Development Grant from the Carroll County Arts Council. Crochet 911: 7 p.m. For ages 11-adults. Join Caroline Brocato to learn how to crochet. If you know how to crochet, please join the group. Please bring a size J hook and light colored yarn to the class.

Medicare 101: 7 p.m. For adults. Register for this event today. Are you eligible for Medicare in the coming months? Do you already have Medicare and want to learn more? Join us for a free 1 hour workshop on the four parts of Medicare and how they work, Medicare Supplement (Medigap) plans, qualifications for Medicare Savings Programs (all Savings Programs are not low-income programs,) free preventive services offered by Medicare, and how to protect yourself from healthcare fraud.

Minute to Win It-Farm Edition: 2 p.m. For ages 8-12. Register for this event today. Ever wanted to be on the hit show Minute to Win It? Here's your chance to play Minute to Win It: Farm Edition. Are you up to the challenge of competing against the clock to complete a game in 60 seconds? In MTWI: Farm Edition all the games have a focus of learning a little more about Maryland agriculture, while testing your skills to complete the challenge. The game starts in 3...2...1...GO. A Celebrating America program. Only kids need to register.

Black Holes-There Is No Escape: 2 p.m. For ages 7-adults. Register for this event today. Join Skip Bird, Observatory Director of the Westminster Astronomical Society, as we bend space and time to reach the bathrooms on the other side of the galaxy. We will use the I word (don't know what the I word is, well join us and find out.) to travel to a distant star just before its death. Find out your connection to the elements, how our atmosphere protects us, and follow the sun through its old age and make your own neutron star. We will warp the fabric of space and survive to tell about it. Only kids need to register

Year-Round Family Story Time-Picnic: 10:45 a.m. For all ages. An open invitation. This weekly story time, open to all ages, introduces stories through books, songs, and activities. Children 3 and younger must be accompanied by an adult caregiver.

Minecraft Mondays: 2 p.m. For ages 8-17. Register for this event today. Come play Minecraft with other gamers on our library server. We'll have different challenges each session, with some in Creative Mode and some in Survival Mode.

First-Time Home Buyers: 6:30 p.m. For adults. Join us for this informative session for first-time home buyers. A panel of experts will be on hand to advise you and answer your questions. Topics covered include the mortgage lending process, title company procedures, home inspections, and real estate sale and buying options.

Tuesday

Computer Help Desk Hours: Noon. For ages 8-adults. Stop by our computer lab from 12-3 p.m. and have our teen volunteer assist you with most of your computer needs, including setting up emails, Facebook and other social media accounts, starting a blog, introduction to kid friendly computer sites like Minecraft and Club Penguin, getting started with Microsoft Powerpoint and Word, and even just downloading smart phone pictures.

Doctor Who Hullabaloo: 2 p.m. For ages 10-17. Register for this event today. Celebrate 50 years of Doctor Who with fellow fans. Join us for Time Lord trivia, duct tape bow ties, a monster hunt, and much more. Costumes are encouraged.

DIY @ Your Library-Book Planters: 6:30 p.m. For adults. Register for this event today. Come create a unique planter made from a book. All materials will be provided.
