Maryland State Fair announces headliners

The bands 38 Special and Great Train Robbery will perform at the 2014 Maryland State Fair at 7 p.m. Aug. 22, according to a press release sent out May 2. The show will be held at the Maryland State Fair Racetrack Infield, 2200 York Road, Timonium.

Tickets to the concert are $25, include admission to the fair and are currently available at http://www.marylandstatefair.com.

Opening act Great Train Robbery book themselves as "The Kings of Classic Rock." The band, formed in Baltimore more than 35 years ago, has performed with The Allman Brothers, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Kansas and others.

Headliners 38 Special formed in 1975 in Jacksonville, Florida. The band performs in a mixture of Southern style and arena rock, and is known for its singles "If I'd Been the One," "Second Chance," "Caught Up in You" and "The Sound of Your Voice." Three of the band's albums, "Wild-Eyed Southern Boys," "Special Forces" and "Tour de Force," have gone platinum.
