Catherine T. Kerr, 74, formerly of Westminster

Catherine T. Kerr, 74, formerly of Westminster, died Sunday, June 1, 2014, at Fairhaven Health Care Center in Sykesville.

She was born Dec. 22, 1939, in Belfast, Northern Ireland. She was the wife of Robert O. Kerr, who died in 2005.

She had worked as a seamstress may years ago in Ireland. She had worked as a cafeteria aide at Westminster Elementary School for many years.

She enjoyed playing bingo and slot machines, gardening, knitting and spending time with family. She was a devout Roman Catholic.

Surviving are sons and daughters-in-law Martin and Jill Kerr, Robert and Kim Kerr, Damien and Darlene Kerr, and Phillip and Katie Kerr; sisters Maura and Josephine; grandchildren Ben, Connor, Caitlin, Alec, Brennan, Grace, Cliodhna, Meghan and Emily; and a large extended family in Ireland.

She was predeceased by a sister, Myrtle Welch.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Haight Funeral Home & Chapel, 6416 Sykesville Road, Sykesville.

Friends and family are invited to an Irish wake at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Kerr residence, 2028 Conan Doyle Way, Eldersburg.

A funeral liturgy will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph's Catholic Community, 915 Liberty Road, Eldersburg. Interment will be in Crestlawn Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the Alzheimer's Association, P.O. Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090-6011.
