Ravens release WR LaQuan Williams

OWINGS MILLS - The Ravens released reserve wide receiver LaQuan Williams Sunday.
Williams was considered an asset on special teams and made some plays on offense during the summer, but his release likely had a lot to do with the excess of wide receivers that Baltimore has on its roster.
Before releasing Williams, the Ravens had seven wide receivers on their 53-man roster. NFL teams typically don't carry more than six.
Williams signed with Baltimore as an undrafted free agent in 2011 and played for the Ravens each of the last two seasons.
