Last week, I tested the Pocket Hose Ultra from TELEBrands and absolutely loved it!
When I saw the package, which was approximately 6.25 inches by 4.5 inches, I would never have believed it contained a 50-foot, full-size garden hose, let alone believed said hose was three times stronger and the No. 1 best-selling hose.
The accordion design is what makes the Pocket Hose Ultra automatically expand when the water is turned on, and contract when the water is turned off and the water is drained. It also makes the hose kink and tangle resistant.
The PHU can be used with a nozzle (not included) or with an adapter (included).
I love gardening, but a couple of years ago, I had extensive shoulder surgery, including tears in the rotator cuff. That, along with severe arthritis in both shoulders, still make pulling a hose and storing it on a hanger very difficult and painful. And finding kinks and untangling hoses, no matter what your condition, is always irritating as well as time consuming.
I plan to get another PHU to connect to this one because the weight of the two combined is much less than one "old fashioned" hose, and the same goes for the time required to store it plus the space required to do so.
It has allowed me to have a small garden when I would otherwise not have been able to pull a heavy hose to water it.
The PHU would also be excellent for children to use because it weighs so little and is hassle-free.
By starting them early, with a few plants of their own, it instills responsibility as well as a love of gardening.
