Cheryl Norma Hayward, 67, of Mount Airy, died Tuesday, June 3, 2014, at home.
Born Oct. 23, 1946, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvnaia, she was the daughter of the late Norma Markland Farrar and William Thomas Farrar Jr. She was the wife of Bert P. Hayward, her husband of 50 years.
She was a retired registered nurse, a 1981 graduate of the University of Maryland with a Bachelor of Science in nursing, with honors. Prior to retirement, she had worked at Mercy Hospital in Baltimore.
Surviving, in addition to her husband, are daughters Colette Hayward, of Reisterstown, Amanda Hayward, of Mount Airy, and Meghan Hayward, of Staunton, Virginia; and sisters Rebecca Mitchell, of Wilmington, North Carolina, and Jennifer Farrar, of Washington state.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Fletcher Funeral & Cremation Services, 254 E. Main St., Westminster.
A funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Interment will be private.
