Howard County police are searching for a 20-year-old male who allegedly committed an armed robbery at a BP gas station Sunday in Lisbon and is known to frequent Frederick, Carroll and western Howard County lines, according to a Howard County Police press release.
Investigators are searching for Joshua Nathaniel Payne, of no fixed address, in connection with the incident. Investigators are reviewing his possible involvement in other robberies and a carjacking in neighboring jurisdictions, the release states.
At 1 p.m. Sunday, Payne allegedly entered the BP gas station on Frederick Road displaying a handgun. The clerk told police that Payne walked behind the counter and allegedly demanded money, which the clerk gave him from the cash register. He then fled, according to the release.
Police are asking for the public's help to locate Payne and are telling the public to not approach him directly. Those who know his immediate location are asked to call 911 and others with general tips concerning his whereabouts are asked to call 410-313-2200.
