Jazz at the Capitol Riverfront
The word: DC's Jazz Fest provides a week-long celebration of jazz, with musicians playing in venues around the nation's capital. June 28 and 29, Gregory Porter, Trombone Shorty, Yasiin Bey -- formerly known as Mos Def, the Rebirth Brass Band and Irma Thomas will perform at Yards Park, overlooking the Anacostia River.

'Amazing Spider-Man 2'
The word: It's been exactly 10 years since the first "Spider-Man 2" was released in theaters, to great critical and commercial success. Marc Webb will try to recapture that goodwill with his reboot sequel, pitting Spider-Man against the Green Goblin, Electro and the Rhino. Sony has two more Spider-Man movies planned, and early reviews say this film sets up the pieces for the rest of the series.

'24: Live Another Day'
The word: Jack Bauer, last seen in the "24" series finale in 2010, is back with a new adventure in this miniseries. Bauer tapped into a cultural need when "24" debuted in 2002, but the world of terror and politics has changed drastically since then. The miniseries cuts down the 24 episodes to just 12, streamlining the stories, which had become bloated in later seasons. This time, Bauer finds himself labeled a terrorist and hunted in London.
