OWINGS MILLS - The Baltimore Ravens travel to face the Pittsburgh Steelers Sunday night. To help preview the game, Times staff writer Matt Zenitz caught up with Ravens running back Ray Rice.

QUESTION: You guys obviously play the Steelers Sunday night. They're the NFL's top-ranked defense at this point. What's the biggest key for you guys from an offensive standpoint going into that game?

RAY RICE: Just execution. We've been playing against these guys for awhile, so there's nothing really to trick each other with. We've just got to go out there and execute at a high level and I think we'll be all right.

Q: And they've, traditionally, been a very solid defense. What makes this year's defense different from some of the Pittsburgh defenses that you've gone up against?

RR: I think the guy [middle linebacker] Larry Foote is playing at a high level. You can't replace a guy like James Farrior, but he's doing it. The guys they have in there - you know without [Troy] Polamalu and everything - those guys have just stepped up to the task and I don't see much difference in them. They're an aggressive bunch, they get after you and they're a bend-but-don't-break defense. We've got to try to score points. And if we score points, and limit them from getting down the field and scoring points, then I think we'll be fine.

Q: What did you see from Kansas City against them last week? I know [running back] Jamaal Charles had some success against them. What did Kansas City do well throughout the course of that game?

RR: They had a good gameplan. They ran it well, and their offense starts with [Charles], so getting him going early was obviously great for them. On the other side, their defense got after Ben [Roethlisberger] with their pass rushers. But from an offensive standpoint, they attacked with the run really well and just got Jamaal Charles going early. I think that was important.
