Three cars involved in a car crash at Md. 140 along the Carroll-Baltimore county line resulted in one fatality, according to Maryland State Police.
William Mark Lehr, 54, of Westminster, was traveling westbound on Md. 140 in a 2001 Toyota Tundra when he struck Ruchita Pandya's 2007 Toyota Corolla just after 5 p.m., according to a release from the Maryland State Police. Pandya's car overturned on the shoulder, and she was subsequently pronounced dead. Pandya was 32.
Prior to Pandya's car being overturned, Pandya's vehicle struck a 2008 Mercedes SGL320, operated by Charles Winters, 51, of Reisterstown. Winters suffered minor injuries but refused treatment, according to the release.
Lehr was flown to University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center with non-life threatening injuries. Md. 140 was shut down around the Carroll-Baltimore county line for at least five hours.
Police confirmed charges have not been filed, and the investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to call the Westminster barrack at 410-386-3000.
