Clifton C. Chenoweth Sr., 90, of Westminster

Clifton Calvin Chenoweth Sr., 90, of Westminster and Brooklyn Park, died Sunday, Jan. 26, 2014, at Golden Living Center in Westminster.

Born Oct. 8, 1923, in Baltimore, he was the son of the late George Thomas and Eva Mae Rote Chenoweth. He was the husband of Jacqueline Hart Chenoweth, his wife of 65 years.

He served in the Army during World War II and he had been the owner and operator of Chenoweth Texaco Station in Baltimore.

He enjoyed tenpins bowling, woodworking and building things for family and friends. He also liked to help his son around his cabin in the Oakland area of Garrett County. He especially enjoyed being with family and grandchildren.

He was of the Methodist faith. He was a member of Dewey-Lowman American Legion Post 109 in Arbutus, the Catonsville Moose and the Catonsville Elks.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are children Cindy Alban, of Glen Burnie, Lois Caskey, of Pasadena, and Tom Chenoweth and wife Margie, of Westminster; siblings Clayanna Kutlik, of Owings Mills, and Roger Chenoweth, of Arbutus; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by a son, Clifton C. Chenoweth Jr.; and nine brothers and sisters.

The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the time of service, 11 a.m. Saturday at Pritts Funeral Home & Chapel, 412 Washington Road, Westminster, with the Rev. David Highfield officiating. Private interment will be held at a later date.
