Mary C. Asper, 100, of Hampstead

Mary C. Asper, 100, of Hampstead, formerly of Steltz, Pa., died Thursday, Feb. 6, 2014, at Mercy Medical Center in Baltimore.

Born June 16, 1913, she was the daughter of the late William R. and Annie McKinney Wilhelm. She was the wife of the late George E. Asper.

She was a member of Bethlehem Steltz Reformed Church and enjoyed quilting, gardening, cooking and baking. She liked doing puzzles, playing dominoes and especially loved visiting with her family.

Surviving are children Catherine "Kitty" Angel and her husband Richard, of Hanover, Pa., Jean Haines, of Columbia, Ruth Kemp and her husband Gary, of Hampstead, and Edward Asper, of Boonsboro; 11 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and 19 great-great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by four brothers and two stepsisters.

Viewings will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at J.J. Hartenstein Mortuary, 19 S. Main St., Stewartstown; and from 1 p.m. until time of funeral service, 2 p.m. Tuesday, at Bethlehem Steltz Reformed Church, 5890 Steltz Road, Glen Rock, Pa., with the Rev. John C. Dorr Jr. and the Rev. Thomas D. Bellis officiating. Interment will follow the service in the church cemetery.
