Vincent Rollo, M.D., orthopaedic surgeon, was selected as Carroll Hospital Center's March Physician of the Month. A physician affiliated with Carroll Hospital Center for 16 years, Dr. Rollo was nominated by a parent for his exceptional care of her now adult son, more than 15 years after his initial care. When her son was 7 years old, Dr. Rollo diagnosed him with a serious childhood condition. And, due to Dr. Rollo's quick diagnosis and subsequent treatment, the patient was able to perform many activities that his family never thought would be possible through his growing years and as an adult, the patient remains active today.
"Dr. Rollo is an exemplary orthopaedic surgeon whose outstanding skill and care touches the lives of all his patients, making him very deserving of this award," Mark Olszyk, M.D., Carroll Hospital Center's vice president of medical affairs and chief medical officer, said.
Each month, Carroll Hospital Center recognizes the extraordinary patient care achievements of physicians, as well as physician assistants, nurse practitioners and certified nurse anesthetists, with a program called Physician WOW Service Awards. From those who are nominated to receive Physician WOW Service Awards each month, one Physician of the Month is chosen. And, from a year's worth of Physician of the Month winners, one Physician of the Year is selected.
