The Freedom District Lions Club was represented by Lions Jacquelyn and Joe Self at the February 27, 2014 Awards Ceremony sponsored by the American Diabetes Association at the Ceresville Mansion in Frederick, Maryland. Awards were presented to individuals and teams for their participation in the 2013 Frederick STEPOUT WALK TO STOP DIABETES. Lion Joe Self, captain for the Freedom District Lions team, was presented with a plaque in recognition of the more than $1,800 raised by the team. Overall, through the hard work and dedication of 545 walkers, 96 teams and many businesses, individuals, corporate teams, family teams and schools, the Frederick Step Out Walk raised $212,407 in 2013, and over $600,000 statewide through Step Out walks. Step Out 2014 will be held on October 12, 2014.
