Hospital raises more than $30K for breast cancer services

Two hundred people gathered to honor breast cancer survivors, receive encouragement and celebrate hope during the Pink Fling Luncheon held Oct. 27 at The Portico at St. John in Westminster. The event was a huge success, raising more than $30,000 for the Center for Breast Health at Carroll Hospital Center through the WISH Fund.
Held in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the annual event featured lunch, a silent auction and guest speakers with messages of inspiration. Special guest Joe Mechlinski, a community advocate, entrepreneur and author, served as keynote speaker at the event.
A special thanks to this year's Presenting Sponsor, Dona Hobart, M.D., breast surgeon and medical director of the Center for Breast Health.
The Center for Breast Health is Carroll Hospital Center's collaborative approach to comprehensive breast health care. Located on the second floor of the Fisher Medical Building, the center offers a complete suite of advanced breast care services, including a distinguished medical team, leading technologies and educational resources to guide patients through the logistics of a cancer diagnosis and treatment, including a breast health navigator, radiologists, surgeons and a plastic surgeon who specializes in breast reconstruction.
