Reisterstown Festival 2013
The Reisterstown Festival is taking place from Sept. 7-8 at Hannah More Park, 12035 Reisterstown Road, Reisterstown. Here's a guide to some of the events open to the public.
Parade: The parade which opens the festival will last from 9-10:45 along Main Street. The route will begin at the intersection of Cockeysmill Road and Main Street and will travel south to the traffic light at Reisterstown Road and the Reisterstown Shopping Center.
Live Music: Bands will perform from 11 a.m.-10 p.m. on Saturday and from noon-5 p.m. Sunday on the Main Stage. For a full list of bands, visit http://www.reisterstownfest.com.
Living History: The First Maryland Volunteer Infantry and the Provisional Forces of the Confederacy will sponsor the Reisterstown Living History area. On Saturday, they will perform a flag raising and 21 gun salute at noon, a kid's drill at 2 and 5:30 p.m. and a ladies' tea at 4 p.m. On Sunday they will host a Civil War era Church Service at noon and an open drill at 1 p.m.
Motorcycle Show: The Reisterstown American Legion Post 116 Riders are hosting a motorcycle show Saturday. They ask that riders sign up by noon and trophies will be awarded at 4 p.m. There will be first and second place trophies for stock, foreign, custom and vintage motorcycles as well as a trophy awarded to the people's choice. Registration is $10, and a portion of proceeds will be donated to the American Legion Legacy Scholarship Fund.
Children's Area: The Children's Area will have rotating performances from the Gerry Gessie Duo Show, Middle Earth Studios, Open Space Arts and American Kenpo Karate. For full schedule, visit http://www.reisterstownfest.com.
Fireworks: Fireworks will be held at 8:30 p.m. Saturday night.
