Letter: March planned for Jan. 25

The Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. said, "Now we're going to march again, and we've got to march again ... for when people get caught up with that which is right and they are willing to sacrifice for it, there is no stopping point short of victory."

Adhering to this truism, we who defend the sanctity of all human life will continue to march until justice is restored for the defenseless.

Hundreds of Carroll citizens will join hundreds of thousands in the 40th Annual Washington D.C. March For Life on Friday, Jan. 25, from the National Mall to the Supreme Court, marking the anniversary of the 1973 Supreme Court Roe v. Wade decision that decriminalized abortion.

We grieve for 55 million innocent babies killed by abortion, the millions of women and young girls wounded and crippled mentally, emotionally, spiritually and physically by abortion, and the hundreds of girls and women who have died during and after so-called safe and legal abortion attempts.

It's urgent that able bodied defenders participate in this safe, peaceful and orderly march, where we demonstrate our opposition to the culture of death perpetrated on pre-born and already born human beings. Our nation, lacking in virtuous leadership and informed citizen participation, has fallen off a moral cliff. Without adherence to moral truth we cannot have a humane culture and society.

President Obama's mandates furthering abortion to extremes never before imagined, embedded in his national health care law the provisions of which are codified and implemented by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and some of his executive orders, force Americans -- in disregard of their religious freedom and informed consciences -- to participate in and pay for the killing of defenseless unborn children, and to pay for the contraceptives and sterilizations of others here and around the world.

Of "horror." and "bloody footprints." God declares in Hosea, "They never pause to consider that I know all about their wickedness; yet their actions are all round them, they stare me in the face."

We declare that killing innocent human beings at any stage of human development is evil, and we strive incessantly to restore their legal protection. We must unite on life principles to overturn Roe vs. Wade, pass the Life at Conception Act and protect mothers and pre-born children. No Exceptions. No Compromise.
