The Roadrunners, Elvis tribute artist performing at sock hop

When the Lineboro Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary hosts its Second Annual Sock Hop from 6 to 11 p.m. April 6 at the fire station, Elvis tribute artist Joe Forrester will be returning along with the band The Roadrunners.

Forrester will entertain with Elvis tunes when on stage and The Roadrunners will bring back the sounds of the 1950s.

"Hopefully people will be done with this weather and ready to get out," said Pat Alexander, vice president of the auxiliary. "Last year went pretty good, but we're hoping for a bigger turnout this time."

In addition to the music and dancing, there will be several contests to show off your skills: hula hooping, a dance-off and a costume contest where people can show off their best '50s attire. You can also take a chance at the 50/50 raffle, and your admission ticket gives you opportunity to win one of several door prizes.

The menu for the evening will be pit beef, pit turkey, sides, salads, dessert, beer and setups. Dinner will be from 6 to 7:30 p.m.

Tickets in advance are $30 per person or $50 per couple. Tickets at the door are $35 per person or $60 per couple.

For tickets, call Ann at 410-239-8830 or Pat at 410-848-8183. After 6 p.m., call Paula at 717-235-0215 or Pat at 410-374-2370.

Proceeds will benefit the Lineboro fire company.

The fire station is at 4224 Main St., Lineboro.
