Library Schedule (Jan. 8-14)

The Eldersburg branch of the Carroll County Public Library, 6400 W. Hemlock Drive, will offer the following programs this week. Registration is required only where noted. For more information, call 410-386-4488.

Wednesday

Knit Wits: 7 p.m. For ages 11-Adults. Beginners, please bring a light colored worsted weight yarn and size 8 needles to the class. If you know how to knit please come and bring your project.

Winter Puppet Show - Goldilocks and the Three Bears: 7 p.m. For ages 3-Adults. Once upon a time, there was an adventurous little girl named Goldilocks. While walking in the forest she came upon a house. She knocked on the door. No one answered, so she decided to walk right in. What happens next? Come find out - we promise this fairy tale favorite will be just right for children and adults. Children age 3 must be accompanied by an adult caregiver.

Service Learning Hours - KidWorks: 5:30 p.m. For ages 12-17. KidWorks meets twice a month. At the 1st meeting we spend an hour planning a story time for younger kids. At the 2nd meeting (1/23/2014 from 5:30-7:30 p.m.) we present the story time. You must come to both meetings to earn 3 service learning hours.

Teen Nail Art: 7 p.m. For ages 11-17. Register for this event today. Have you been curious to try out a new manicure? Are you tired of wearing the same old boring polish? Join us to swap ideas, techniques, and polishes to spruce up your nails. Feel free to bring your own polish, but there will be some provided.

Friday

Tinkertots: 10 a.m. For ages 2-5. Register for this event today. A little push, a twist a turn. Keep those little fingers busy and experimenting in our library Tinkertown. Fun, playful activities will engage the mind and body as your child builds their fine motor skills and creativity. Children 3 and under must be accompanied by an adult caregiver. This program is sponsored in part by a Community Arts Development Grant from the Carroll County Arts Council and the Maryland State Arts Council. Movies @ Your Library - Monsters University: 9:45 a.m. For ages 5-Adults. Take a trip back in time to when star Monsters, Inc. employees Mike Wazowski (voice of Billy Crystal) and James P. Sulley Sullivan (voice of John Goodman) were just two promising young students at Monsters University in this

frightfully fun Disney/Pixar prequel. Rated G with a run time 104 minutes. Children 7 and under must be accompanied by an adult. Refreshments will be served.

Free Spirit Book Club - The Colour by Rose Tremain: 2 p.m. For Adults. Please join us for a discussion about our chosen book.

Kids Discovery Zone - Piano and Violin: 2 p.m. For ages 3-10. Register for this event today. An interactive chance to see, hear, and yes, even play the piano and violin. Join us, Bagus Wiswakarma, violin, Ela Wiswakarma and Kathryn Harsha, piano for a fun class introducing you to the piano and violin, and get a chance to play one, too-in just your size. No experience necessary-and believe it or not, you'll be playing a song by the end of the class. Children age 3 must be accompanied by an adult caregiver. Only kids need to register
