Reisterstown United Methodist Church

celebrated its 236th anniversary Feb. 3. A booklet was provided by the RUMC History and Records Committee detailing the history of the church in Reisterstown from the first confirmed visit on Feb. 6, 1777 by Bishop Francis Alsbury to a listing of its current missions and ministries.

Har Sinai Congregation

will celebrate Purim with a Purimspiel where Dr. Seuss characters will narrate the Purim story and a Purim carnival where families will gather for games, food and raffle prizes. The Purimspiel will begin at 11:15 a.m. Feb. 24, and the carnival will begin at noon at Har Sinai Congregation, 2905 Walnut Ave., Owings Mills.

Reisterstown United Methodist Church,

246 Main Street in Reisterstown, will have blessings bestowed on the Prayer Shawl Ministry of Reisterstown United Methodist Church's latest works at the 9 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. services Feb. 17. They have distributed over 825 shawls to Germany, Liberia, Israel and Canada, as well as locally to Carroll Safe House and the Wounded Warrior Project at Walter Reed Hospital. As well as the prayer shawls, this group supplies baptismal blankets, helmet liners for troops and lap blankets for chemo patients at Baltimore VA hospital.

Temple Emanuel

will host their first adult only Purim Party Feb. 23. There will be games, music, drinks and food. Costumes are optional but highly encouraged. RSVP by Feb. 15 to the Temple office.

Har Sinai Congregation

is hosting Shabbat Rocks! a musical Shabbat experience designed for all ages at 6:15 p.m. Feb. 22 followed by a family Shabbat dinner. The event, featuring the congregation's in-house rock band Chai-Jinx will take place at the synagogue at 2905 Walnut Ave. in Owings Mills. The Shabbat Rocks! service is free; the Shabbat dinner costs $15 for adults and $9 for children. To RSVP for the dinner or learn more, call the synagogue at 410-654-9393.
