Robert C. 'Bob' Brothers, 94, of Gamber

Robert Claude "Bob" Brothers, 94, of Gamber, died Saturday, March 29, 2014.

Born Sept. 28, 1919, in Gamber, he was the son of the late Ernest Claude Brothers and Amelia Ward Brothers.

A veteran of World War II and a native of Carroll County, his endeavors included being an auto mechanic, realtor, builder and farmer.

He enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He was a founding member of the Gamber Volunteer Fire Department. When in better health, he enjoyed the American Legion Post 31, the Moose and the VFW of Westminster.

Surviving are daughter and son-in-law Faye and Alan Lerman, of Taneytown; a son, David Brothers, of Westminster; granddaughter and husband Sandra and Bill Finch, of New Windsor; grandsons Steven Green and wife Lisa, of Westminster, Michael Brothers, of Tennessee, and Douglas Brothers and wife Holly, of Hampstead; great-grandchildren Megan Finch, Kyle Finch, Luke Finch, Autumn Finch, Hunter Green, Spencer Green, Alexis Brothers, Douglas Brothers Jr., Isabella Brothers and Dimitri McKinney; and brothers Luther Brothers, of Gamber, and Carl Brothers, of Traverse City, Mich.; and a sister, Joan Gist, of Gamber.

He was predeceased by ex-wife Ruth Brothers; a son, Raymond "Boh" Brothers; a brother, Calvin Brothers; and sisters Grace Shipley, Marietta Clark, Jeannette Owens and Sue Green.

Friends may call from noon until the time of service, 2 p.m. Wednesday at Fletcher Funeral & Cremation Services, 254 E. Main St., Westminster. Interment will be at Providence Cemetery in Gamber, with the Rev. Gary Buchman officiating.
