Men's basketball: Terps release 2013-14 schedule

The University of Maryland men's basketball team announced Thursday its schedule for 2013-14, its final season in the Atlantic Coast Conference.
The schedule features the regular season-opener against Connecticut at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y., a matchup with Ohio State in the Big Ten/ACC Challenge and a nationally-televised Big Monday home contest with 2013 Final Four participant Syracuse.
The Terrapins will play an 18-game conference slate, highlighted by home-and-home series with ACC newcomer Pittsburgh, Virginia, Florida State and Virginia Tech.
In addition to hosting Syracuse, the Terps have conference home games against Miami, Georgia Tech, Wake Forest and Notre Dame. Maryland will also travel to Clemson, Duke, North Carolina, Boston College and North Carolina State in its final season in the ACC.
The Terrapins will not face longtime rival Duke at home. Their final ACC home game comes against Virginia on March 9. Maryland moves to the Big Ten next season.
"Our schedule features many of the top basketball programs in the country and we are excited to compete against these outstanding teams," Maryland head coach Mark Turgeon said.
"We have a number of challenging early season matchups, which will prepare us for a very competitive conference schedule."
