Library Schedule (July 25-31)

The North Carroll branch of the Carroll County Public Library, 2255 Hanover Pike, Greenmount, will offer the following programs this week. Registration is required only where noted. For more information, call 410-386-4480.

Wednesday

Evening Story Time: 6:45 p.m. All ages. This story time introduces stories through books, songs, and activities. Children 3 and younger must be accompanied by an adult caregiver.

Teen Open Mic: 6:30 p.m. Ages 11-17. Bring your poetry, music, or other creative skills and show us what you've got. Refreshments will be served.

Year-Round Family Story Time: 10 a.m. All ages. This weekly story time introduces stories through books, songs, and activities. Children 3 and younger must be accompanied by an adult caregiver.

Thursday

Just a Minute: 2 p.m. Ages 9-17. Can you throw paper airplanes through a hula hoop? Or tap three balloons to keep them up in the air for a minute? Come and try these events and more while competing against others in crazy games to earn great prizes.

Friday

CD crafts: 2 p.m. Ages 9-17. Come and make a locker magnet, a spinning top, and more out of old CDs.

Read and Play: 10:30 a.m. Birth-24 months. A story time featuring lap games, tickles, bounces, and rhymes followed by a playgroup for meeting and mingling. With an accompanying adult caregiver.

Monday

Drop-in Computer Basics: 2 p.m. Adults. Are you technology challenged about basic computers skills? Stop by for a little help with such things as email, attachments, searching the Internet, or applying for jobs online.

The Magic of Roger Lindsay: 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. Ages 4-Adults. Summer Reading ambassador Roger Lindsay transports kids 4 to 104 to a realm of magical happenings, illusions, and laughter. Join Prop the Magic Bunny as he and Mr. Lindsay amaze and amuse in this show loaded with audience participation. You never know what surprises await you. Registration required for both children and adults planning to attend with children. Registration for this program began 7/16/2012.

Tuesday

Getting Graphic: Drawing Comics and Manga: 2 p.m. Ages 11-17. A beginner's course in drawing for comic books, graphic novels, and manga. Learn and practice some basic tips and techniques that will get you started drawing your own stories. Supplies will be provided, so come prepared to draw.

Story Pals: 10 a.m. Ages 2-3. A theme-based story time featuring interactive and age-appropriate stories, songs, finger plays, and activities. With an accompanying adult caregiver.
