Beulah V. Brown Benge, 94, of Glyndon, died Wednesday, June 4, 2014.
Born Oct. 22, 1919, in Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Frank M. and Grace Wagner Fisher. Twice married, she had been the wife of the late William E. Brown, her husband of 54 years, and the late Claudie H. Benge, who died eight weeks ago, her husband of 18 years.
After graduating from Towson High School, she became a telephone operator for Chesapeake & Potomac Telephone Company for four years. She then went to work at Black & Decker in Towson for 35 years. She started out in the factory and retired in 1981 as a legal executive secretary for one of the vice presidents.
She was a member of Glyndon United Methodist Church. She was secretary of many duckpins bowling leagues. She enjoyed making homemade candy, decorating cakes, making quilts and sewing and was a fan of the Orioles.
Surviving are a daughter, Patricia Brown Bailey, of Glyndon; sister and brother-in-law Betty and Paul Skipper, of North Port, Florida; granddaughter and husband Tammy and Alan Eney, of Huckleberry Bottom; a great-granddaughter, Kirsten Chrest, enlisted in the U.S. Navy; a great-grandson, Kyle Watt, of Huckleberry Bottom; and many nieces and nephews, especially Terrie O'Donnell.
She was predeceased by sister and brother-in-law Grace and Jim Watkins; and brother and sister-in-law Captain Frank and Konnie Fisher.
The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Eckhardt Funeral Chapel, 11605 Reisterstown Road, Owings Mills.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Mays Chapel Cemetery in Lutherville.
