A John Waters Christmas
The word: Famed local artist John Waters puts the X in X-mas in this one-man show. The show is billed as one for "all ages," but don't believe it. His nickname isn't the "Pope of Trash" for nothing.

Hot Ticket

The word: Tickets go on sale Friday for Lorde's North American tour. The New Zealand singer-songwriter sensation was recently nominated for four Grammy Awards, including Record of the Year and Song of the Year for "Royals" and Best Pop Vocal Album for "Pure Heroine."
Details: 8 p.m. March 7 at the Echostage in Washington, D.C. Tickets are estimated to sell at $75.25 and will be available through ticketmaster.com Friday.

Big premiere

'American Hustle'
The word: This film is getting big awards buzz. Con artists, played by Christine Bale and Amy Adams, are forced to work for an FBI agent, played by Bradley Cooper, to take down mafia-types in the late 1970s and early 1980s. Jennifer Lawrence plays the wild card that could foil the whole operation.
Details: "American Hustle" premieres Friday in theaters nationwide, including Regal Westminster 9. For show time information, call 410-857-1422.

The word: Nothing new compares to the surprise Beyonce dropped last week with her new self-titled album. With no promotion, the album broke the record for highest sales in a debut week on iTunes. Queen Bey further destroyed the mold with this release by creating a new form. It's a "visual album" with 14 new tracks and 17 integrated videos that has been getting stellar reviews.
Details: The album is available for $15.99 on iTunes.

Couch Potato

'The X Factor'
The word: "The X Factor" chooses a winner tonight in the Season 3 finale. "Glee" star Lea Michele is scheduled to sing her first single, "Cannonball," and One Direction, Mary J. Blige and judge Paulina Rubio will also perform.
Details: The show airs at 8 p.m. tonight on FOX.
