OWINGS MILLS - Bears wide receiver Brandon Marshall had some lofty praise for Ravens cornerback Lardarius Webb on Wednesday during a conference call with Baltimore media.
Marshall and Webb will match up Sunday when Chicago plays the Ravens.
Webb and Marshall have faced each other twice before - in 2009 when Webb was a rookie and Marshall was with the Broncos and in 2010 when Marshall was with the Dolphins.
"When I was in Denver, my last year in Denver, I remember traveling to Baltimore, and he really dominated me," Marshall said. "I wasn't prepared. Right before he got hurt [last year], he probably was a top-5 cornerback in the league, if not maybe even playing right behind Darrelle Revis, pushing Darrelle Revis for the best corner.
"Now on tape, you're starting to see him get back to that form, and he's playing lights out. There are some things I see that he probably wants to work on and not give up, but this guy has the potential to be the best corner in the league."
Webb has struggled some this year as he works from the knee injury that ended his season last year, but he is coming off of a game against the Bengals that he felt was his best all-around performance of the season.
