After a steady increase in gas prices this year, motorists in Maryland got some slight relief at the pump last week.
The average price of gas statewide was $3.97 per gallon Sunday, according to a AAA press release. That's 3 cents per gallon cheaper than last week, when prices averaged $4.00 per gallon statewide.
Gas prices in Westminster ranged from $3.87-$3.99 per gallon this weekend, according to http://www.marylandgasprices.com.
The U.S. Energy Information Administration expects gas prices to average about $3.95 per gallon during the April-September summer driving season with prices peaking in May, according to AAA.
