Officer, suspect identified in shooting
Baltimore County Police are identifying the man shot as he attempted to strike an officer with his car as Steven David Gary, 45. His last known address is in the 700 block of Cloudyfold Drive, 21208. The defendant has been charged with first degree assault, second degree assault, theft from $10,000 to $100,000, and reckless endangerment. He remains under guard at the hospital. A bail amount of $35,000 has been set.
The officer involved in the shooting is identified as Officer Boone, a 13 year veteran currently assigned to Precinct 1/Wilkens patrol. Per department policy, he has been placed on routine administrative leave.
Car runs into store
At 11:36 a.m., Baltimore County Police and Fire crews responded to the Fashion Bug store at 11714 Reisterstown Rd for a report of an automobile accident.
Upon their arrival, officers discovered a Subaru Outback completely inside the store. There was one adult female employee in the store that was injured.
The initial investigation into this incident has indicated that an elderly female was parking her Subaru Outback in front of the store. For an unknown reason, the car went forward through the front of the store injuring an employee. The employee was transported to Sinai Trauma Center with non life-threatening injuries.
On Wed. Sept. 12, Baltimore County Executive Kevin Kamenetz announced Baltimore County had reached a new labor agreement with the Federation of Public Employees, extending the current agreements through fiscal year 2015. FPE represents 1,600 County employees and is comprised of correctional workers, highway supervisors, 911 employees and office workers.
The contract guarantees that FPE employees will recieve scheduled increment and longevity increases for the next three years and that no employees in the bargaining unit will be laid off or furloughed during that time period.
The second annual Morgan Stanley Quarry Lake Fall Fest will be held on Sunday, September 23rd from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. The event will feature more than 70 vendors on Quarry Lake Drive, including flowers, plants, jewelry, arts and crafts and retail vendors. The bands Emma White and the Sons of Pirates will perform on the Walgreen's stage.There will also be a moon bounce, face painting, caricatures and balloon art. The Oriole Bird will be present from 1-3 p.m. Proceeds to benefit The Pikesville Chamber of Commerce.

Historic Glyndon, Inc. is hosting "Glyndon By Candlelight," a holiday house tour on Dec. 1, 2012 from 4-8 p.m. "Glyndon By Candlelight", a self-guided tour, will include eight private homes. The tour will feature various types of architecture, including turn-of-the century Victorians, Classic Bungalow and Vernacular Gothic.
