William H. Miller, 89, of Taneytown, died Thursday, Feb. 28, 2013, at home.
Born May 15, 1923, in Blackoak, he was the son of the late William F. and Viola Baker Miller. He was the husband of Evelyn Martin Miller, his wife of 70 years.
He was a lifelong farmer. He owned and operated school buses for Carroll County Public Schools for more than 50 years. He moved to Taneytown in 1942 and along with his wife, purchased a dairy farm in 1943. He operated a farm egg route to Baltimore for 10 years and also did custom farming.
He was a 64-year member of the Masonic Monocacy Lodge No. 203. He was also a member of Shriners International and Uniontown United Methodist Church.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are children Judy Shultz and husband Dean, of Gettysburg, Pa., and Leonard Miller Sr. and wife Corinthia, of Taneytown; brother David M. Miller and wife Louise, of Taneytown; grandchildren Michael Miller and wife Melissa, of Elizabethtown, Pa., Leonard Miller Jr. and wife Lisa, of Taneytown, Susan Bertier and husband Jeremy, of Littlestown, Pa., Brian Miller and wife Samantha, of Taneytown; great-grandchildren Logan Miller, of Taneytown, Abby, Lilly, Gracie, and Callie Bertier, of Littlestown, and Lane and Audrey Rose Miller, of Taneytown.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 136 E. Baltimore St., Taneytown.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Walt Bosman and the Rev. O.F. "Bud" Kibbie co-officiating. Interment will follow at Keysville Union Cemetery.
