Library Schedule (Sept. 4-10)

The Eldersburg branch of the Carroll County Public Library, 6400 W. Hemlock Drive, will offer the following programs this week. Registration is required only where noted. For more information, call 410-386-4488.

Wednesday
Story Pals - Autumn: 9:45 a.m. For ages 2-3. A theme-based story time featuring interactive and age-appropriate stories, songs, fingerplays, and activities. With an accompanying adult caregiver.

Beginning Yoga Strength: 7 p.m. For ages 16-Adults. Register for this event today. Join Dianna Fornaro, a Yogafit instructor from Freedom Fitness, for classes designed for yoga novices who want to build strength and grace through gentle yoga stretches and strengthening exercises. An additional strength training component is incorporated to help build bone density and range of motion. Please bring your own mat and/or towel. All attendees need to register.
Teen Volunteer Time: 7 p.m. For ages 12-17. Need service hours? Help the library. We are looking for young adults who would like to earn service hours. Help the library prepare crafts for storytime, pull library materials from the shelves, and do other special projects. Come and earn service hours, it's just that easy.

Thursday
Read and Play: 9:45 a.m. For ages Birth-24 Months. A story time featuring lap games, tickles, bounces, and rhymes followed by a playgroup for meeting and mingling. With an accompanying adult caregiver.

Sykesville Tae Kwon Do Little Ninjas: 1 p.m. For ages 4-6. Register for this event today. Learn skills to aid in focus, balance, coordination, memory, control, discipline, confidence, fitness, and balance through the art of tae kwon do. Please wear comfortable clothes to move in. With an accompanying caregiver. Only kids need to register.
Cello Exploration: 5 p.m. For ages 5-8. Register for this event today. Join us for an afternoon of hands-on music. Dr. Maxim Kozlov will host an interactive cello program where he performs and allows the children to explore and play the cello as well. Dr. Maxim Kozlov holds both a Master of Music Education and Doctor of Musical Arts degree from the prestigious Moscow Convervatory and the Peabody Institute of Johns Hopkins University. Only kids need to register.

LEGO® Creations: 11 a.m. For ages 5-Adults. Want to build a castle? Or a spaceship? Or something totally new and different? Join us for a LEGO® program where you can build whatever you would like. We supply the blocks and you supply the creativity. Bring your dad or your mom and build together.
Intergenerational Art: 2 p.m. For Adults. Register for this event today. Express yourself through art. Join a Girl Scout Senior as she guides you to create a melted crayons art project as part of her Gold Award. No prior art experience needed.
