Christine Arrowood, R.N., and certified wound, ostomy and continence nurse, was recently honored as Carroll Hospital Center's December Associate of the Month. A member of the hospital's staff for 21 years, Arrowood was nominated for going over and above her normal duties to assist in the treatment of a wound care patient.
"Christine is a highly skilled clinical nurse who not only gives excellent care to all of our patients with wounds and ostomies, but also takes the initiative to teach nursing staff on all shifts, so that there is a continuity of care related to wound care," said Elizabeth Fuss, R.N., M.S., C.I.C., director of associate health, infection prevention and inpatient wound and ostomy care at Carroll Hospital Center. "Her expertise has played a large role in ensuring our staff is performing at a level of excellence in patient care."
Each month, Carroll Hospital Center recognizes the extraordinary achievements of members of the Carroll Hospital Center staff with a program called Associate WOW Service Awards. From those who are nominated to receive Associate WOW Service Awards each month, one Associate of the Month is chosen. And, from a year's worth of Associate of the Month winners, one Associate of the Year is selected.
Community members and hospital staff members are encouraged to nominate a hospital staff member who has demonstrated a special dedication and devotion to his/her job in a variety of ways.
