Georgetta Dorm, 86, of Baltimore

Georgetta Dorm, 86, of Baltimore, died Sunday, Jan. 13, 2013, at St. Agnes Hospital.

Born Jan. 11, 1927, in Westminster, she was the daughter of the late George and Uvilla Wilson Gibson. She was the wife of William Russell "Russ" Dorm, who died in 2005.

She was a nurse who worked at Rosewood Hospital before her retirement. She was a 1944 graduate of Robert Moton School. She was a past chair of the Hanlon Improvement Association, past chair and co-founder of Hanlon Community Day celebration and a block captain in her community.

She was very meticulous in her appearance. She enjoyed listening to jazz, flower gardening and traveling. During the Christmas season she always donated to Santa Claus Anonymous, St. Jude's Cancer Foundation and other well-known charities.

Surviving are children Sabooh Hikim, of Washington, D.C., Felicia Roane, of Pikesville and Kevin Dorm, of Baltimore; siblings, the Rev. Burton Mack and wife Brenda, of Maryland and Geraldine Magruder, of New Windsor; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Kenneth and Queen Dorm, Jessie Patterson, Joan Willis, Carolyn Dorm, Mary Hann, and Sharon and Marvin Cornish; grandchildren Amira Hikim, Marcus and Nigel Roane, Nicole Parker, and Keyona Thomas; five great-grandchildren; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

She was predeceased by grandchildren Jamal and Moses Hikim; and by siblings Henry and Branford Gibson, and Iris Dorm.

The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until the time of service, noon Saturday at Pritts Funeral Home & Chapel, 412 Washington Road, Westminster, with her brother, the Rev. Burton Mack officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Gardens.
