Library Schedules (July 25-31)

The Eldersburg branch of the Carroll County Public Library, 6400 W. Hemlock Drive, will offer the following programs this week. Registration is required only where noted. For more information, call 410-386-4488.

Wednesday

Drop-In Crafts: 3 p.m. All ages. Join in for some fun crafts. Children 3 and younger must be accompanied by an adult caregiver.

Knit Wits: 7 p.m. Ages 11-Adults. Beginners please bring a light colored worsted weight yarn and size 8 needles to the class. If you know how to knit, please come and bring your project.

Story Pals: 9:45 and 10:45 a.m. Ages 2-3. A theme-based story time featuring interactive and age-appropriate stories, songs, finger plays, and activities. With an accompanying adult caregiver.

Thursday

Deck the Cards: A Card Trick Workshop: 2 p.m. Ages 12-17. Join comedy magician Mike Rose as he presents this fascinating card trick workshop for teens. Drawing on his 25+ years of experience, Mike will allow teens to learn his very own tricks. All materials will be provided. Come and learn to amaze your family and friends. Registration for this program began 7/12/2012.

KidWorks Presents: Under the Sea: 6:30 p.m. All ages. Join the KidWorks kids as they travel under the sea. We'll have fun with stories, songs, and activities about the sea. Children 3 and under must be accompanied by an adult caregiver.

Read and Play: 9:45 a.m. Ages birth-24 months. A story time featuring lap games, tickles, bounces, and rhymes followed by a playgroup for meeting and mingling. With an accompanying adult caregiver.

Little Hands Signing: 9:45 a.m. Ages Birth-24 Months. Experience the magic of American Sign Language through age-appropriate stories, songs, activities, and games, along with tips and tricks for caregivers on using signs in everyday activities. Presenter Kathy MacMillan is a certified member of the Sign2Me® Presenters' Network. With an accompanying adult caregiver. Siblings welcome.

FLY. Celebrating Flight of Imagination and the Magic in Dreams: 11 a.m. Ages 2-7. Join musician Tracey Eldridge as she leads the audience on a whimsical voyage through the land of infinite possibilities. With her special mix of singing, dancing, music, movement, signing, and parachute play, she reminds us to remember in our dreams we can fly. Registration for this program began 7/14/2012.

Saturday Story Time: 9:45 a.m. All ages. A theme-based story time featuring interactive and age-appropriate stories, songs, finger plays, and activities. Children 3 and younger must be accompanied by an adult caregiver.

Work with a Master Gardener: 10 a.m. Ages 12-Adults. Watch a demonstration and participate in a hands-on work session in the Eldersburg Branch Garden with the Master Gardeners. Registration for this program began 7/14/2012.

Monday

Year-Round Family Story Time: 9:45 and 10:45 a.m. All ages. An open invitation. This weekly story time, open to all ages, introduces stories through books, songs, and activities. Children 3 and under must be accompanied by an adult caregiver.

Tuesday

Angry Birds Live: 2 p.m. Ages 7-12. Can't get enough of Angry Birds? Come join us for an afternoon of Angry Bird fun. There will be lots of games and activities. Registration for this program began 7/17/2012.

Feng Shui for the Bedroom: 7 p.m. Adults. Join Karen Greenstein of Interior Harmony LLC, as she discusses how feng shui in your bedroom can help to create your perfect restorative, personal space. Leave with information you can use immediately. Registration for this program began 7/17/2012.

Movies Made EZ: 7 p.m. Ages 11-17. Do you have a passion for movies? Would you like to make movies? Want to create a submission for the Summer Shorts contest? Join filmmaker Paul Oakes as he takes you through the journey of making a movie, from the first storyboard to the final cut. Registration for this program began 7/17/2012.
