J. Smith 'rusty' in return to the field

OWINGS MILLS - Ravens cornerback Jimmy Smith was admittedly rusty in his first action since undergoing surgery to repair a sports hernia in mid-November.

He said after the game that he felt "rusty, very, very rusty."

Smith didn't play at all in the second half, but yielded two 14-yard completions to Eric Decker during the first half. Decker's second 14-yard catch helped set up Jacob Hester's 1-yard touchdown run that pushed the Broncos' lead to 10-0.

Smith returned to practice two weeks ago.

"He wasn't 100 percent out there," Harbaugh said. "And that's something you don't know until you get into the game. And unfortunately, he wasn't as quick as I'd hoped he would be. We'll have to see how he does this week. Sometimes in practice it's a little harder to judge that."
