William John "Bud" Lynch Jr., 91, of Westminster, died Thursday, May 29, 2014, at Stella Maris Hospice in Timonium.
Born Sept. 26, 1922, in Baltimore, he was the son of the late William J. Lynch Sr. and Anna R. Stefan Lynch. He was the husband of Doris M. Baus Lynch, who died in 2005.
He had worked for the U.S. Postal Service for many years, retiring in 1981. He served in the Navy during World War II. He enjoyed doing crossword puzzles. He was a geography buff and was dedicated to maintaining his fitness.
Surviving are daughter and son-in-law Sharon A. and Lawrence J. Blair, of Westminster; and grandchildren Gregory M. Blair and wife Danielle, of Westminster, Ryan C. Blair and wife Tracy, of Annapolis, and Lauren A. Blair and fiance Miles R. Rivas, of Westminster; five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by siblings Gerard F. Lynch and Ellen B. Smith.
The family will receive friends from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at Haight Funeral Home & Chapel, 6416 Sykesville Road, Sykesville.
A funeral liturgy will be held at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph Catholic Community, 915 Liberty Road, Eldersburg. Interment will follow in Lake View Memorial Park.
