The Tree of Friends Foundation held the Mohawk Mile Saturday at Deer Park to raise money to replace an old sign that is in a field at the park. The current 25-year old sign says "Magin Field" and needs to be replaced, according to Tree of Friends Foundation co-founder Jessie Boog.

The Carroll County-based foundation will have a new sign made and will hold a re-dedication of the field, she said.

The foundation also raises money for specific families in the community that have experienced a tragedy or have other needs. The proceeds from this Mohawk Mile will help subsidize recreational sports costs for families in need.
