Library Schedule (Aug. 8-14)

The Eldersburg branch of the Carroll County Public Library, 6400 W. Hemlock Drive, will offer the following programs this week. Registration is required only where noted. For more information, call 410-386-4488.

Wednesday

Drop-In Crafts: 3 p.m. All ages. Join in for some fun crafts. Children 3 and younger must be accompanied by an adult caregiver.

Knit Wits: 7 p.m. Ages 11-Adults. Beginners please bring a light colored worsted weight yarn and size 8 needles to the class. If you know how to knit, please come and bring your project.

Story Pals: 9:45 and 10:45 a.m. Ages 2-3. A theme-based story time featuring interactive and age-appropriate stories, songs, finger plays, and activities. With an accompanying adult caregiver.

Thursday

Service Learning Hours-KidWorks: 5:30 p.m. Ages 12-17. KidWorks meets twice a month. At the 1st meeting we spend an hour planning a story time for younger kids. At the 2nd meeting (8/23/2012 from 5:30-7:30 p.m.) we present the story time. You must come to both meetings to earn 3 service learning hours.

Read and Play: 9:45 a.m. Ages birth-24 months. A story time featuring lap games, tickles, bounces, and rhymes followed by a playgroup for meeting and mingling. With an accompanying adult caregiver.

Story Pals: 10:45 a.m. Ages 2-3. A theme-based story time featuring interactive and age-appropriate stories, songs, finger plays, and activities. With an accompanying adult caregiver.

Friday

Bubblegum Blowout: 2 p.m. Ages 7-12. Join us in celebrating all things bubblegum. Come prepared to chew. Registration for this program began 7/27/2012.

Movie Friday @ the Library: The Muppets: 10 a.m. Ages 3-Adults. The Muppets need to raise $10 million dollars to save the Muppet Theater. It's up to Kermit the Frog to reunite the Muppets and hold the greatest Muppet telethon ever. Can they do it? This film is rated PG with a running time of 98 minutes. Children 8 and under must be accompanied by an adult caregiver. Refreshments will be served. Registration for this program began 7/27/2012.

Saturday

Free Spirit Book Club: 2 p.m. Adults. Please join us for a discussion about our chosen book "The Red Tent" by Anita Diamant.

Saturday Story Time: 9:45 a.m. All ages. A theme-based story time featuring interactive and age-appropriate stories, songs, finger plays, and activities. Children 3 and younger must be accompanied by an adult caregiver.

Monday

Kids Craft Night: 6:30 p.m. All ages. Join us for relaxed seasonal craft making. Children 3 and under must be accompanied by an adult caregiver.

Year-Round Family Story Time: 9:45 and 10:45 a.m. All ages. An open invitation. This weekly story time, open to all ages, introduces stories through books, songs, and activities. Children 3 and under must be accompanied by an adult caregiver.

Tuesday

Bilingual Story time-in English and ¡Español: 1 p.m. Ages 3-8. ¡Hola. Hello. Learning another language is fun and beneficial for growing brains. In this bilingual story time, presented in English and Spanish, children will listen to cuentos (stories), sing canciones (songs), play juegos (games), and pick up some Spanish along the way. Come join the fun. All children must be accompanied by an adult caregiver.
