I am born and raised in Westminster -- moved away for 10 years, but wanted to come back.
I love to support Westminster. I attend Fall Fest and The Month of Sundays religiously.
I have two suggestions for the city and HSP.
First, the restrooms at the playground, behind the basketball court, are deplorable and very embarrassing when having out-of-towners attend our events. I understand the reasoning behind the bare essentials of a stainless steel, seatless toilet with a grungy plastic shower curtain (in the ladies' room), that lays against your knees when using the toilet.
The restrooms are pathetic. All the while, the announcer on the stage broadcasts where the toilets are, if needed. Can't they be improved? If vandalism is an issue, then they will need to be only used during events.
Second, we have that big, wonderful parking garage. When the weather is threatening, and especially when the top band of the month is rained out, why not go to Plan B?
Use a portion of the parking garage for the band and the audience. It can be roped off -- possibly the second section up -- everyone is happy. The band can play, HSP makes money and the vendors can park on the first level.
Thus no disappointment anywhere, and no having to pay for a band that can't play due to rain.
Truly a win-win for everyone.
