Miriam Brown Hollman, 98, of Hampstead, died Thursday, Jan. 23, 2014, at home following a lengthy illness.
Born April 28, 1915, in Greenmount, she was the daughter of the late William C. and Cora Face Brown. She was the wife of Leslie R. Hollman, who died Feb. 12, 1993, her husband of 46 years.
She was a homemaker and a farmer. She enjoyed a long life with family and friends on her ancestral farm in Greenmount. She was a member of Greenmount United Methodist Church.
She was the last of her immediate family.
Surviving are sons and daughters-in-law Charles D. and Linda Garrett Hollman, and Glenn L. and Darlene Price Hollman; grandchildren and spouses David and Tracy Hollman, Ryann Toomey, Jennifer and Landry Boggs, Laura and Eric Zilberman, Carol Hollman and Kevin Oswald; and great-grandchildren Austin Lyle, Kylie Toomey, Hunter and Chase Hollman.
She was predeceased by siblings Leroy G. and Woodrow F. Brown, Ruth B. Manganelli, Mildred B. Nygren and Hilda B. Leese.
The family will receive friends 1 p.m. until the time of service, 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Greenmount United Methodist Church, 2001 Hanover Pike, Hampstead, with her pastor, the Rev. Dr. Melissa Rudolph officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Carroll Hospice, 292 Stoner Ave., Westminster, MD 21157; or to the Greenmount United Methodist Church, 2001 Hanover Pike, Hampstead, MD 21074.
Arrangements are being handled by Jeffrey N. Zumbrun Funeral Home in Eldersburg.
