Edna M. Wampler, 78, of Salisbury

Edna Mae Johnson Wampler, 78, of Salisbury, died Monday, June 2, 2014, at Coastal Hospice at the Lake.

Born in Sneedsville, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late Curtis and Maxie Purkey Johnson. She was the wife of Raymond L. Wampler, her husband of 59 years.

She worked as a teacher's aide for many years in Wicomico County and enjoyed collecting antiques. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Salisbury and of the VFW Post 194.

Surviving, in addition to her husband, are children Deborah W. Fairbank, of Sherwood, C. Dean Wampler and wife Beth, of Attleboro, Massachusetts, and Dennis Wampler and wife Lisa, of Allen; five grandchildren; brother William Johnson and wife Mary, of Baltimore; sister Judy Young and husband Jimmy, of Baltimore; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by four sisters.

The family will receive friends from 3 p.m. until the time of service, 4 p.m. Thursday at Faith Lutheran Church, 1416 Old Ocean City Road, Salisbury, with the Rev. Theresa Langdon officiating. Interment will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Lake View Memorial Park in Sykesville.
