Thompson wins 'Maryland Photographer of the Year'

At the Maryland Professional Photography Association (MDPPA) annual awards banquet March 3, Tammy Thompson was awarded "Maryland Photographer of the Year" for 2012. This is the highest title award given out by the MDPPA. It is given to the photographer who has earned the highest competing points for their images across all categories for the year. Not only did Tammy Thompson have the highest number of points but her images won a Best Of Show in each of the three categories she competed in.

Tammy Thompson also received "Illustrative Photographer of the Year 2012", for the second year in a row. Thompson was 1st Runner-up in both "Electronic Imaging Photographer of the Year" and "Portrait Photographer of the Year".

Print awards were also given out from the MDPPA Annual Print Competition. All of Thompson's 10 prints entered received ribbons, four prints merited, and her print titled "Wild Ambiance" in the Electronic Imaging Category received the "Court of Honor" award.

Tammy Thompson is the owner, photographer, and digital artist of Passion Portraits located in Finksburg.
