Local Girl Scout Troop 910 will host its Seventh Annual Daddy Daughter Dance fundraiser from 6 to 9 p.m. Feb. 18 at St. Joseph Catholic Community in Eldersburg.
Troop leader Karen Magalotti said the dance has traditionally raised funds for the troop to donate to various charities, but the girls, who are high school juniors, hope to take a trip together this year.
"Almost all of them have been together since kindergarten," Magalotti said of the 12 girls in the troop. "They've worked hard all this time, and I think it's time to do something just for them - kind of a treat after all the years of service they've done."
The dance will feature a photo of each couple and games and crafts before a dinner of spaghetti, with or without sauce, meatballs, garlic or plain bread, salad, dessert and drinks. After dinner, there will be dancing, and parting gifts will be given to each girl as she leaves.
Tickets are $30 per couple and $10 for each additional child.
While there is no age restriction, Magalotti said, the games, crafts and music are geared toward kindergarten through fifth-grade girls.
Space is limited for this event and it has sold out in the past, so purchasing tickets by Wednesday is recommended. Please call to verify availability after that date.
