Teen Volunteer Time: 7 p.m. For ages 12-17. Need service hours? Help the library. We are looking for young adults who would like to earn service hours. Help the library prepare crafts for story time, pull library materials from the shelves, and do other special projects. Come and earn service hours, it's just that easy.

Groundbreaking Film Series-Paths of Glory: 6 p.m. For adults. Join us as we view some of the most innovative movies from the 20th century. Film discussion to follow the showing. Refreshments will be served. A Celebrating America program.

Divergent After-Hours Program: 6:30 p.m. For ages 11-17. Come explore the exciting world of Divergent. There will be food, fun, games, and much more. Permission slips are required and can be picked up at the Information Desk. Refreshments will be served.
Saturday
Horsin' Around with Black Beauty: 10 a.m. For ages 8-Adults. How do you make a classic fresh? By adding new touches. Join illustrator Brenda Shaffer as she talks about how she uses her illustrating talents to breathe new life into the classic story of Black Beauty. Afterwards, she'll show you how to draw a horse on your own. All supplies provided. Copies of Brenda's new book will be available for purchase and signing.
Come Learn with Me @ the Library-Alphabetic Principle: 2 p.m. For ages birth-5. Please join us for a playgroup for children and their caretakers to learn and play together. This special program will feature a variety of play centers and will include time for reading, artwork, lots of play and plenty of surprises, all while building skill development and school readiness. Space is limited and registration is required. Please register children only, but an adult is expected to attend with the child. In partnership with the Kiwanis Club of Westminster.
Free Spirit Book Club-The Last Chinese Chef by Nicole Mones: 2 p.m. For adults. Please join us for a discussion about our chosen book.
"War and Freedom": 9 p.m. For adults. The final discussion will be on theme "War and Freedom." The book discussed will be America's War-Part 5. This culminating event will feature a panel of all the scholars led by Senator Joe Getty, and will provide an opportunity for all participants to meet together and join the discussion. Coffee and a box lunch will be included at Carroll Community College from 9 a.m.-12:30 p.m. A Celebrating America program.

Code It @ the Library: 2 p.m. For ages 9-15. Explore Scratch, a popular educational programming language designed by the MIT Media Lab. By simply dragging together colored blocks of code, you can learn computer programming concepts and make cool games and animations. Create a playable game using step by step instructions or design your own. This program will be held monthly with multiple projects offered so attend one or more sessions. Bring a USB flash drive if you want to save your finished project to take home.
Movies @ Your Library: "Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2": 2 p.m. For ages 6-Adult. Picking up precisely where its hit predecessor left off, Sony Pictures Animation's Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2 finds Flint Lockwood invited to join the Live Corp Company, and use his gift for invention for the good of mankind. Run time 95 minutes. Rated PG. All children must be accompanied by an adult caregiver. Refreshments will be served.
