McDaniel Track

COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. -- Jasmine Scott finished fourth in the 60 meters to lead McDaniel at the 2012 Centennial Conference women's indoor track and field championship hosted by Ursinus on Saturday.

The Green Terror finished with 11 points to place 10th. Johns Hopkins won its second straight indoor crown with 143 points, easily outdistancing second-place Dickinson by 51 points.

Scott won her preliminary heat of the 60 with a time of 8.27 seconds to rank fourth entering the finals, where she shaved 0.01 seconds off her time to just miss a medal in fourth place.

She was also 11th in the 200 with a time of 27.81 seconds.

Katie Corson placed sixth in the 400 with a time of 1:01.49, which ranks third all-time. She was also 10th in the 200 with a time of 27.80.

Scott and Corson joined Jasmine McCormick and Teresa Paz in the 4x200-meter relay, which finished eighth with a time of 1:53.14

The same quartet turned in a time of 4:23.44 in the 4x400 to also finish eighth.

Missy Black and Becky Kaler ran either end of the distance medley relay with Paz and McCormick, placing eighth with a time of 13:38.57. The time ranks eighth in program history.

Black, Laura Shinn, Phoebe McHale and Sarah Holbrook teamed to finish 10th in the 4x800 relay with a time of 11:22.94.

McCormick was 16th in the high jump, clearing 1.37 meters, and 31st in the long jump, leaping 4.03 meters.

Kaler and Shinn rounded out McDaniel competitors. Kaler was 20th in the 3,000 with a time of 11:07.40, which is eighth all-time. Shinn finished 23rd in the 5,000 with a time of 20:40.17.

The Green Terror opens the outdoor season at the Colonial Invitational hosted by William & Mary on Mar. 16-17.
