"Man & Woman of the Year" is an intensive 10 week fundraising campaign involving the LLS organization and this year, eleven caring men and women candidates raising vital dollars to support life saving research to benefit Leukemia and Lymphoma patients.

Also, every year, two children afflicted with a blood cancer, fortunately survivors, are included as part of this campaign. This year, seven-year-old Aaron Augustine and sixth grader Kiley Morgan were the "Boy and Girl" of the year!

Both Aaron and Kiley interestingly drew a meaningful child's picture, had it framed, and sold at the live auction. The added bonus, they sold their artistic pictures for a substantial amount of fundraising dollars! Both Aaron and Kiley were so very happy to be able to participate and contribute to this very important fundraising campaign!

Overall, the Man & Woman of the Year campaign this year garnered a phenomenal $285,000!

Dr. Doug Miller is this year's "Man of the Year." Ms. Blaney Spinelli, is "Woman of the Year."

Dr. Doug Miller in addition to his private practice, is a chiropractor for the Baltimore Ravens (1996-2012), Baltimore Blast and University of Maryland (2006-2009).

Blaney Spinelli owner of Wee-cycle Mart, is also an independent associate with LegalShield.

Actually, all the candidate entrants were and are winners in raising vital dollars to benefit the fight against dreaded blood cancers!

Ed Levendusky chaired this successful "Man & Woman of the Year" event; Kim Lennon, was campaign chair; Beth Prensky is director, special events; Matt Hjortsberg is Baltimore Chapter president; Jon Rosa, is executive director, of our Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS), located at 100 Painters Mill Road in Owings Mills.

Interestingly, prior to coming to Baltimore, Charlie was a TV anchor in Little Rock, Arkansas. He worked as a multimedia journalist, earning two Emmy Awards, an Edward R. Murrow Award and three Associated Press Awards! Welcome to Baltimore, Charlie! You are doing a great job!

Ron Kirby was the successful auctioneer for the live auction of many items obtained by the "Man & Woman of the Year" candidates, plus the two kids that submitted their pictures.

Rebecca Francis was event fotog.
