The Eldersburg branch of the Carroll County Public Library, 6400 W. Hemlock Drive, will offer the following programs this week. Registration is required only where noted. For more information, call 410-386-4488.

Wednesday
Story Pals - Music: 9:45 a.m. For ages 2-3. A theme-based story time featuring interactive and age-appropriate stories, songs, fingerplays and activities. With an accompanying adult caregiver.
Story Pals - Music: 10:45 a.m. For ages 2-3. A theme-based story time featuring interactive and age-appropriate stories, songs, fingerplays and activities. With an accompanying adult caregiver.
Knit Wits: 7 p.m. For ages 11-Adults. Beginners, please bring a light colored worsted weight yarn and size 8 needles to the class. If you know how to knit, please come and bring your project.

Thursday
Read and Play: 9:45 a.m. For ages Birth-24 Months. A story time featuring lap games, tickles, bounces, and rhymes followed by a playgroup for meeting and mingling. With an accompanying adult caregiver.

Getting Graphic - Drawing Comics and Manga: 1 p.m. For ages 11-17. A beginners's course in drawing for comic books, graphic novels, and manga.
Paper Football Smackdown: 3:30 p.m. For ages 7-14. Are you ready for some football? Join us for a paper football smackdown. Wear your favorite football jersey and either bring a paper football or make one when you get here. Compete to see who makes it to the Super Bowl and will be crowned the paper football champion. Refreshments will be served.
KidWorks Presents - Ocean Animals: 6:30 p.m. For All Ages. Join the KidWorks kids for fun with stories, songs, and activities about ocean animals. Children 3 and under must be accompanied by an adult caregiver.

Friday
The Thrilling Tale of Peter Rabbit: 9:30 and 11 a.m. For ages 3-Adults. Register for this event today. Can you name Peter Rabbit's sisters? Come meet Flopsy, Mopsy, Cottontail, and Peter in this rollicking puppet show that brings The Tale of Peter Rabbit to life like never before. You'll really dig Peter Rabbit in his thrilling escapade through Mr. McGregor's vegetable garden. Parents, enjoy retelling the story with your children using the parent activity handout. Children age 3 must be accompanied by an adult caregiver. All attendees need to register.
Meet Poe: 1 p.m. For All Ages. Register for this event today. You are in for a special treat when Raven's mascot, Poe visits the library. Training camp is just getting started, but football fever is in full swing at the Eldersburg Branch. Help Poe cheer our hometown football team onto victory again this year. Bring your camera to capture the moment and don't forget to wear your purple. Children 3 and under must be accompanied by an adult caregiver. A Celebrating America program. All attendees need to register.

Saturday
Work with a Master Gardener: 9 a.m. For ages 12-Adults. Register for this event today. Work with a Master Gardener at the Eldersburg Branch Library's Native Garden. The Carroll County Master Gardeners will be available for your questions while maintaining our native garden. Service hours are available for students ages 12-17. Wear your work clothes and bring gardening gloves. All attendees need to register.

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.-A Living History Presentation: 2 p.m. For ages 11-Adults. This summer marks the 50th anniversary of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.'s I Have a Dream speech. In honor of this significant event, Bill Grimmette, a living history interpreter, will tell the stories and the history up to and including the dramatic issues that lead Dr. King to the podium on August 28, 1963. Martin Luther King's I Have A Dream speech is a Freedom Shrine Document. A Celebrating America program.

Year-Round Family Story Time - Rhyming Stories: 9:45 a.m. For All Ages. An open invitation. This weekly story time, open to all ages, introduces stories through books, songs, and activities. Children 3 and under must be accompanied by an adult caregiver.
