Good Friday bake sale and lunch

The Hampstead American Legion Auxiliary Unit 200 invites everyone to join them for their bake sale and lunch on Good Friday, April 18 beginning at 9 a.m. and continuing until later in the afternoon. The tables will be filled with lots of baked goods and various other goodies. Lunch item will be available starting at 9 a.m. and consists of homemade chicken noodle soup, cold cut subs, tuna, chicken and ham salad sandwiches as well as hotdogs, chips and pickled eggs. Carry-outs are also available.

This event dates back to 1951 when it was decided to have the very first bake sale near Eastertime and has continued every year since.

All of the profits from this event go toward the sponsorship of the Girls State Program. Girls State is a nonpartisan program that teaches young women responsible citizenship and love for God and Country. High school girls, who have completed their junior year, spend an intensive week of study, working together as self-governing citizens, learning how to participate in the functioning of their state's government in preparation for their future roles as responsible adult citizens.

The Hampstead American Legion Post 200 is located at 4600 Legion Lane. For information, please call Faye at 410-374-2206.
