Westminster library branch

The Westminster branch of the Carroll County Public Library, 50 E. Main St., Westminster, will offer the following programs this week. Registration is required only where noted. For more information, call 410-386-4488.

Tuesday

Story Pals: Babies: 10 a.m. For ages 2-3. A theme-based story time featuring interactive and age-appropriate stories, songs, fingerplays, and activities. With an accompanying adult caregiver.

Read and Play: 11 a.m. For ages Birth-24 Months. A story time featuring lap games, tickles, bounces, and rhymes followed by a playgroup for meeting and mingling. With an accompanying adult caregiver.

Evening Story Time: Babies: 7 p.m. For All Ages. End your day in a special way. This story time, open to all ages, introduces stories through books, songs, and activities. Children 3 and under must be accompanied by an adult caregiver.

Friday

Stuffed Animal Sleepover: 10 a.m. For All Ages. Come share a special story time with your favorite doll or stuffed animal, and then sign your furry friend in for an overnight of fun activities with the library staff. Then pick them up the next morning to hear about all of their adventures. Note: Only stuffed animals, dolls, and toys will be spending the night. Children 3 and under must be accompanied by an adult caregiver.

Saturday

Look Ma-No Leaves: 11 a.m. For ages 14-Adults. Register for this event today. Join Steve Allgeier for a crash course on American tree identification. Learn the basics of identifying deciduous trees in their dormant condition by observing and describing twigs, bark, leaf scars, fruits, branching patterns and tree form. Attendees will learn to use guides and "keys" to woody plants so as to identify native tree species. Class time will be divided (weather permitting) between classroom exercises and a field walk to trees along West Main Street and City Hall. Approximately two hours long. A Celebrating America program.

Styrofoam Print Making: 2 p.m. For ages 5-Adults. Register for this event today. Create pictures, cards, or anything else you can think of by reusing the lids of old, but clean, Styrofoam containers. We will provide the materials, you bring the creativity and fun.

Finksburg library branch

And who is that talking at the bottom of the well? Will they help the Princess? Come enjoy this lively fairy tale.
