Baltimore Ravens tight end Ed Dickson signed his restricted free-agent tender Friday, an original-round tender that will pay Dickson $1.323 million this season in the final year of his rookie contract.
Dickson was a third-round pick of the Ravens in 2010.
"The business part of it is done, so I can go to work and try to bring home another championship for the Baltimore Ravens," Dickson said after practice Friday.
Dickson's role as a pass-catcher diminished last year as fellow tight end Dennis Pitta emerged as a key piece in the Ravens' offense, but Dickson and offensive coordinator Jim Caldwell both hinted Friday that Dickson could be among several players to see more opportunities in the passing game this season as Baltimore looks to fill the void left by the departure of wide receiver Anquan Boldin.
Dickson had just 21 catches for 225 yards last year, but he had 54 catches for 528 yards and five touchdowns in 2011.
