Westminster library branch

The Westminster branch of the Carroll County Public Library, 50 E. Main St., Westminster, will offer the following programs this week. Registration is required only where noted. For more information, call 410-386-4488.

Tuesday

Story Pals-Picnic: 10 a.m. For ages 2-3. A theme-based story time featuring interactive and age-appropriate stories, songs, fingerplays, and activities. With an accompanying caregiver.

Read and Play: 11 a.m. For ages birth-24 months. A story time featuring lap games, tickles, bounces and rhymes followed by a playgroup for meeting and mingling. With an accompanying adult caregiver.

Evening Story Time-Picnic: 7 p.m. For all ages. End your day in a special way. This story time, open to all ages, introduces stories through books, songs, and activities. Children 3 and younger must be accompanied by an adult caregiver.

Needle Nuts: 7 p.m. For adults. Wanted-Knitters and crocheters of all levels. Would you like to share your projects and talents with others? Or do you want to learn how to knit or crochet? Then here's your chance. Grab your needles and yarn (beginning knitters bring size 8 needles, crocheters a size H hook, and worsted weight yarn) and join the rest of us at the Westminster Branch Library the first Thursday of every month.

Friday

Minecraft & Munchies: 3:30 p.m. For ages 11-17. Register for this event today. Drop in for an afternoon snack and some Minecraft challenges on our library server. Some will be in Creative, others in Survival mode. Refreshments will be served. All attendees need to register.

Yoga with Syeda: 6 p.m. For ages 15-adults. Register for this event today. Five free yoga sessions of 90 minutes each. These special sessions allow more time to focus on relaxation and meditation, while allowing you to Increase your flexibility and strength. Appropriate for beginner or intermediate level.

Saturday

Lambs in the Library: 11 a.m. For all ages. Registration for this event began May 24. Come to a special sheep story time and meet some adorable lambs from Chickory Lane Farm. Don't forget your cameras. Children 3 and younger must be accompanied by an adult caregiver.

Monday

In the Garden Story Time: 10 a.m. For ages 3-6. How does your garden grow? Join us for songs, stories, and sillies at this special story time. If the weather is sunny, we may even enjoy the garden at the library. Children age 3 must be accompanied by an adult caregiver.

Game Night at the Library: 6:30 p.m. For ages 13-adults. Playing board games live versus online creates a fun environment where just interacting with the people you live near can significantly strengthen your community, spur organization, and build friendships. Stop by for game night at the Finksburg Branch Library.

SONiA of disappear fear in Concert: 7 p.m. For all ages. Registration for this event began May 26. Disappear fear is a songwriter, a band, a visual artist named SONiA (Rutstein) from Baltimore, Maryland. Touring her disappear fear sound in 16 countries she leaves a whole bunch of smiles in her wake. SONiA has received many awards including the Coin of Honor from the US Army for her humanitarian efforts and the GLAAD award for Best Album. She has shared the stage with many of her heroes including Bruce Springsteen and Pete Seeger. Children 3 and younger must be accompanied by an adult caregiver. All attendees need to register.
